How did women's roles in society differ from Athens and Sparta?

Women in Athens and Sparta are different, the two might be sisters but there rules are a lot different. Athens is suppose the respect there husben, mainly the man and boys have more aventage of the education and woman. Boys grows up with educations and girls don't. Womans in Athen are mainly slaves to man in properties. Unlike Sparta women, Sparta women have the rights of mainly half of the respect of the man. Women in Sparta own a third of the land, girls have the educations as the boys, women marry later unlike the Athens, they take care of everything that does not have to do with the army because there husben is not always home. Also the women in Sparta take care of the boys til they turn at the age of seven so they can act though for the army. Men in Sparta plays a little role or none in taking care of the child.

If the Greeks are considered so advanced, so culturally elite, why do you believe gender equality (equality between men and women) was not established?

The Sparta was well into the army progress. The men did not have time or wanted to treat the women nicely. Most men was not home so when a married women get marry the men goes off to the army and leave the homes. The homes belong to the women because they have the rights to take good care of it and children and everything that has nothing to do with the military. Men in Sparta goes fight while the Athen stay at home and boss the wive around. Gender equality was not established because the women in Athen will not speak up about what they want, instead they think they will be protected while they are getting hurt. Sparta has more rights its becuase the men are always off in the army.

Based on your understanding of women in Ancient Greek society, how do you think women were depicted by artists at this time?

The women at long time ago art has been though exspecialy the Athen. The Athens had to work almost of there whole life while they are naked. While the Sparta get to do whatever they want with the equel of the men. Women at this time looking at artist, the women would be really surprise and almost happy.
Women can follow there own rule no matter who says it or make it!
